Travel

Minimal travel is involved. Compensation is competitive, with a full benefits package, as listed below.

Compensation

Our firm's policy regarding compensation is to start new employees at competitive salaries based upon qualification and levels of experience. Promotions and advancements are based solely upon merit. It is ability, not seniority, that will determine an employee's compensation, responsibility, and promotion at Beall Barclay & Company, PLC.

Overtime

The nature of public accounting is such that no fixed number of hours can be established as a normal work week. It is the policy of this firm that, insofar as it is practicable, forty hours shall constitute a normal work week. From January 1 to April 15, this standard may be extended to a minimum of fifty-five hours for a normal week, dependent upon workload. It is generally the firm's policy to pay the professional staff a salary based on 2,158 hours per year. Due to the concentration of time required during the early months of the year, this set number of hours would allow an additional three weeks off between May and December, in addition to normal vacation hours.

Vacation

Those members of the staff who have been continuously in the service of the firm for one year or more on January 1 of any given year are entitled to a vacation of two weeks at such time as, in the judgment of the firm, their duties will permit. Those having been in the employ of the firm for less than one year are granted a vacation, based on one day for each full month of service, as of January 1st.

Sick Pay

During periods of illness of an employee, the firm will continue base salary payments for two weeks per fiscal year. One week of sick leave that has not been used per year will be carried forward to accumulate. The sick leave accumulated is allowed to a maximum of ten weeks to be paid for in any one year. Sick leave is not to be used for anything other than illness or medical and dental office visits of the employee and/or the employee's child and will not be paid in the event of termination of employment.

Continuing Professional Education

Each member of the firm's professional staff is required to complete a minimum of 40 hours of continuing professional education over the course of each year. The firm offers in-house continuing professional education courses specially tailored for our firm. Also, we use Arkansas and Oklahoma State Society of CPAs for other specialized courses. When needed, staff have the opportunity to attend AICPA-sponsored courses throughout the United States. All continuing education during regularly scheduled business hours will be compensated.

Insurance

The firm is a subscriber to a group insurance plan for hospitalization and major medical coverage. The cost of the premium applicable to the employee is paid by the firm. At the employee's option, his or her spouse and/or dependents may be covered under the plan, with the additional premium paid by the employee through a payroll deduction. The firm also pays the premium for life insurance coverage as well as long-term disability on each employee.

Cafeteria Plan

The firm offers a Cafeteria Plan that includes a choice of cash and benefits under the dental, dependent care, medical care, and medical reimbursement plans maintained by the firm.

Holidays

Unless demands for services intervene, the firm observes the following holidays with compensated time off: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve (1/2 day holiday), and Christmas Day. In addition, the firm grants one day off to be taken after the season or the Friday after Thanksgiving. The firm also gives one day off with pay for the employee's birthday.

Retirement Plan

The firm's retirement plan is a 401(k) plan that includes employee and employer contributions for those employees who have been with the firm for over six months.
